What we do not offer

Most providers list what they sell. This is the other half, so you can find out now rather than after you have moved in.

We do not manage your server

Our machines are unmanaged by design. We keep the hardware, the power and the network running; the operating system and everything above it is yours. We will not patch your software, tune your database or debug your application.

What we will do is tell you what we would look at next, and answer when the problem turns out to be below your operating system. See what unmanaged means.

We do not back up your data

Unless you have specifically arranged something, nothing is being backed up. A reinstall destroys the disks and we cannot undo it; a failed array is a failed array. Set up your own, off the machine, and test a restore — backups and testing a restore.

We do not sell shared hosting or VPSes

Dedicated servers, bare metal and colocation. If you want a few euros a month for a small website, we are the wrong shop and we will say so rather than sell you a machine you do not need. If you have outgrown a VPS, that is exactly our territory — see when a VPS stops being enough.

We are not a datacentre operator

We are a dedicated server provider and an ISP. Our racks are in carrier-grade facilities in Amsterdam and we run everything in them ourselves — our hardware, our network, our engineers — but we do not own the buildings and we do not claim to. See why Amsterdam.

We do not hold ISO certifications

Not ISO 27001, not SOC 2. If your procurement process requires a certificate from your supplier, we are not able to provide one, and it is better that you know before you start. What we do provide is a published SLA, a data processing agreement, a privacy statement and straight answers to questions.

We do not offer prices without a conversation

At the moment every machine is quoted individually, because we build to order. Servers you can order directly are coming; for now it is a short email and a specific answer. See writing a good quote request.

We do not take everything

There is a list of things that are not allowed on our network under any circumstances, and we enforce it. If your business depends on one of them, we are not the provider for you — see the AUP in plain English.

Why say all this

Because the alternative is finding out in month three. We would rather lose an order than have a customer who expected something we never offered — the business we want is the kind that lasts years, and that only works when both sides knew what they were buying.
