Ways to pay
Different customers want to pay in different ways, and we try not to make that the hard part. Here are the methods we take, how they map to invoices, and which suits recurring versus one-off payments.
Paying us should be the easy part. We keep a few options open so you can use whatever suits your business, and so a payment method is never the reason a service lapses.
What we accept
- Bank transfer — straightforward for recurring invoices and larger amounts
- Card — convenient, and easy to automate for recurring billing
- Cryptocurrency — see paying by cryptocurrency
Invoices come first
Whatever the method, there is always a proper invoice behind the payment — for your records and for VAT. The payment references that invoice, which is how it is reconciled. See invoices, payment and cancellation and VAT and cross-border invoicing.
Recurring versus one-off
For an ongoing service, a method that renews without manual steps — card or standing transfer — means you are not re-paying by hand each cycle, and a service does not lapse because an invoice was missed. For a one-off or an occasional order, any method is fine.
Billing cycles
Most services bill monthly or annually; longer commitments can come with better terms — see contract lengths and payment terms. Annual billing is one invoice a year instead of twelve, which some prefer for the admin alone.
If a payment will be late
Tell us before an invoice is overdue rather than after. A heads-up is nearly always workable; silence past the due date is what leads to suspension. We would far rather arrange something than interrupt a service. See renewals and price changes.
Changing method
You can switch how you pay at any time from the portal or by asking us — see getting a fast answer. Nothing about the service depends on which method you use.
